Van Gogh & Me
By Matthew Gutschick
The Rose Theater, Omaha
World Premiere
Toward the end of his life, Vincent Van Gogh stayed at the Auberge Ravoux in Auvers-sur-Oise, where he painted some of his most noted works. One such painting was of the inn keeper's daughter. She would go on to write an account of Vincent's personality that would challenge common understanding of this complex figure. This TYA play follows the trajectory of how such a radical act of compassion came to be. Read an excerpt of the play here.
