Balloonacy
By Barry Kornhauser
The Rose Theater, Omaha
An old man is alone on his birthday. That is, until a mysterious, and at first unwanted, visitor floats through his window. As the old man's morning with the balloon proceeds, his new acquaintance helps him re-engage with what it means to use one's imagination as well as what it means to be a good friend. A wordless, physical piece for the youngest of audiences, Balloonacy was performed in The Rose's smaller Hitchcok Theater to create a welcoming environment for Pre-K audiences to laugh and problem solve in with the performers.
